Lead Service Lines and the Service Line Replacement Project

A service line is the pipe that brings water from the water main into your home.

In 2021, the Environmental Protection Agency published the Lead and Copper Rule Revision (LCRR). This document instructs municipal water authorities, like the Cornwall-on-Hudson Water Department, to take an inventory of service line materials so that lead service lines can be identified and replaced.

Residents can choose to either personally inspect their water service line and report to the water department, or have a member of the water department come to their home and inspect it for them.

If you'd like to self-inspect your water line, please:

To schedule an appointment, you can call (845) 534-4200 x250 or email waterdepartment@cornwall-on-hudson.org.

If you have previously inspected your service line, then no further action is needed on your end.
